Haimurubushi

The southernmost resort in Japan, located on the remote island of Kohama, 5 minutes from Kohama Port by car, Haimarubushi offers spacious accommodations with ocean or garden views. A free shuttle is available from Kohama Port. Kohama Port is a 30-minute ferry ride from Ishigaki Port, while Ishigaki Port is a 30-minute drive from New Ishigaki Airport. Free WiFi is available in all areas and guests can enjoy marine sports such as diving, snorkeling and windsurfing.

All guest rooms are non-smoking and air-conditioned. Rooms feature a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. A fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags are included. The en suite bathroom comes with a hairdryer, slippers and nightwear.

An outdoor swimming pool is open during the summer season and massages can be requested for an extra cost. Car and bicycle rentals are available at the 24-hour front desk and a free-use washing machine is provided as well. Guests can ask for travel tips at the tour desk and enjoy canoeing at the ocean or simply sunbathe at the beach.

The Grill Dining offers Western and barbecue dishes, and live music entertainment and original course menus are available at Club Dining. A buffet dining and a bar/cafe are available as well.

The free shuttle runs on a schedule accordingly to the ferry boat arrival. Reservations are not required.

Kohama Island can be reached by public ferry from Ishigaki Island. It is available every hour between 07:00-17:00. Operated by Anei Kanko and Yaeyama Kanko Ferry Company.

Please note that public ferry schedules are subject to change depending on seasonality and weather conditions. The last ferry during summer season is 18:00, while winter season is 17:15. Please contact the Ferry Company for more details.

Great Resort with huge park
Great Room with Sea view on the second floor of the Hotel, within walking distance to the main building. The Hotel has a friendly staff, Stéphane is the European gatekeeper/steward helping you with any issues you might have, if you're not fluent in japanese, very friendly. The rooms are big, ask for a balcony room with sea view. The Hotel is mainly aimed at japanese tourists, but this should not be a problem if you're open. Very nice private beach with all facilities. Restaurants on the island will pick you up for diner if you don't eat at the hotel. Good food, but quite pricey everywhere. The park around the hotel is very big. You can rent bikes and get around the island in a couple hours.
The pool is too small for the whole resort. The food is ok, but quite pricey. The beach café food (pasta, etc.) is not fancy, but quite expensive for what it is. If you want to go to Iriomote (very closeby), you need to take a ship back to ishigaki.

„Super Service, tolle Anlage, aber zu teuer
Das Personal waren super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Insbesondere Stéphane. Herzlichen Dank! Die Anlage ist wunderschön, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten eine sehr entspannte Zeit.
Das Hotel ist auf japanische Gäste ausgerichtet, so dass meine Anmerkungen als Europäer aus dieser Perspektive zu verstehen sind. Der Preis ist für die Region anscheinend normal, aber für 900 EUR pro Nacht (nur Frühstück) für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder ist der Standard für europäische Verhältnisse relativ niedrig. Der Frühstücksraum ist eher einfach gehalten und das Frühstück muss man auf einem Einkaufswagen zusammentragen, was für unsere Kinder ein großer Spaß war. Das Frühstücksbuffet selbst ist ausreichend, aber in dieser Preisklasse nicht herausragend (z.B. begrenzte Obstauswahl, keine Spiegelei/ Omlette, nur Toast). Es gibt keinen Fitnessraum und der Pool ist zu klein zum Schwimmen, da ab 9.00 Uhr (Öffnungszeit) mit Kindern überfüllt. Der Strand und das Beach Kaffee sind toll, aber man darf nur in einem ca. 50 M breiten Abschnitt schwimmen, was insbesondere bei Ebbe zu einem praktischen Schwimmverbot führt, obwohl der endlose Strand und das wunderschöne Meer vor einem liegen. Jeder Verleih und jede Aktivität kostet extra.
